DESCRIPTION:Come experience how using sound and vibration can bring safe and potent alignment to the body. \nSunCoast Market Co-op invites you to experience a sound relaxation session with Shawna Schenk at Yoga with Shawna\, Imperial Beach. This calming session is open to anyone and is done in a relaxing position on a yoga mat. According to Shawna (and thousands of years of world-wide practice)\, “sound can be used to synchronize our energetic body\, physical imbalances\, emotional disturbances\, and fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to.” \n \nFAQs\nWill it be weird or new age-y?\nMany people are skeptical about new things\, but we think it’s like taking a nap while listening to sounds from a variety of relaxing sounding instruments. It’s very traditional and has been used for centuries. We think you’ll like it a lot.  \nWhat do I need to bring?\nPlan to wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat if you have one. You will be asked to remove your shoes and lay on your mat during the session. There are blankets available\, but if you get cold easily\, plan for light layers. \nIs there parking available?\nYes. There is onsite parking. The yoga studio is located on the 2nd level. \nIs this appropriate for people with physical limitations?\nThis is a relaxed class from a seated or laying down position on a yoga mat. You will need to be able to get up and down from the floor. The class is located on the second level\, unfortunately there is not an elevator available at this location. \nCan I bring a friend (or an older child)?\nAbsolutely! This event is appropriate for older children who can sit quietly without talking or disruption for the duration of the one hour session.
