SUMMARY:Chefs de Cuisine Education Foundation After School Cooking Program
DESCRIPTION:Sweetwater Union School District Middle and High School students and parents/guardians are invited to register for an 8 session\, twice-monthly\, virtual cooking class. This program is free and provided by the Chefs de Cuisine Education Foundation and includes the necessary ingredients and tools to participate in each session. \nThe course includes healthy\, kid-friendly recipes and mini-lessons on sanitation\, cleanliness\, portion size\, nutrition labels\, cross contamination\, reducing levels of salt\, fats\, sugar and processed foods\, the use of herbs and spices\, and healthy snacking. \n\n\n\nRegistration\nParents/guardians will receive an online permission forms and must agree to pick up food items at a designated distribution point in their area. The Foundation has developed a partnership with the Suncoast Market Co-op\, the Chula Vista Police Activities League and the Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center to coordinate distribution. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nVideo Portfolios\nAfter school program coordinators maintain a video portfolio of items prepared and complete online worksheets on nutrition and healthy eating. After School program coordinators at each of the 12 schools involved in the initial program phase monitor the portfolio progress and share data with the Foundation. Finished portfolios are required for program completion certificates. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCompetition\nAn online competition will be held at the end of the school year for students to exhibit preparation and presentation skills. DESCRIPTION:What better way to celebrate summer than with a SCAVENGER HUNT!?!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBIKE- WALK- SKATE- ROLL \nExplore Imperial Beach California\, complete challenges and win prizes! \n  \nWhat is an Active Transportation Scavenger Hunt? \nThis is a semi-virtual event for active transportation users to explore their neighborhood and get to know their community. Using the Scavify app to track points and complete tasks\, participants will ride\, walk\, skate\, and roll around Imperial Beach visiting points of interest\, shops\, sharing photos\, and completing mini challenges. \nThe more tasks you complete\, the higher the chances you have of winning prizes. \n  \nWhen is the event? \nThe scavenger hunt starts on July 3rd and goes until July 17th. You have 15 days to complete as many of the challenges\, tasks and quizzes as possible. \n–>BONUS EVEN- Come down to Seacoast Drive and Donax Ave on July 3rd between 5pm and 9pm to sign up for the Scavenger Hunt and get some free swag items (lights\, helmets\, safety gear).
