Be a part of creating a better, equitable food system.

Opening our doors

At 600 Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach, we have found what we and our consultants believe to be a perfect home for South Bay’s first ever grocery cooperative! No longer will community members have to drive out of town for groceries or struggle to support our local farmers and producers.

We have raised $1.8 million of our $4.2 million dollar goal to date. Will you contribute today? You can make a tax-deductible donation or contribute directly by using the buttons below.

About Our Fiscal Sponsor

San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project and the SunCoast Community Fund is a California non-profit corporation and a 501(c)3 tax-exempt educational charity. We were granted tax-exempt status on November 15, 2007.

The purpose of the organization is to strengthen the local food landscape in the San Diego region; provide a local food network between the community and local farms; educate and demonstrate sustainable farming practices to support and grow San Diego’s local food economy; preserve local farms and farmers; and conserve associated wildlands.

Founded in 2005 and incorporated in 2007, we are governed by our volunteer Board of Directors under the guidance of the community we serve.
